Amber Evans, soprano, and the Mivos Quartet

20th May 2019 – 7:00pm

Amber Evans, soprano, and the Mivos Quartet present an arresting joint concert as 2019 winners of the Dwight and Ursula Mamlok Prize for Interpreters of Contemporary Music. The concert honors the life of the remarkable German-born composer, who as a precocious teenager fled the Nazis, later to become a fixture in New York’s new music scene. A short film by Anne Berrini will also depict how Mamlok reestablished an active late career in her native Berlin before her death in 2016. The evening will feature two key works by Mamlok and other composers championed by the artists. Presented by the Dwight and Ursula Mamlok Foundation.
